Paul E. Anderson, O.D.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Both parents hailed from Glasgow Scotland. His Father served in the Royal Air Force before coming to the United States where he designed and sold custom printed forms. Mom was a general secretary.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Ashland University in 1982, and Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 1986. I worked in the food service while attending Ashland University. Positions held: food server, cook, donut maker, dish washer, janitorbasically anything that needed to be done.

While attending Optometry school, I worked with mentally handicapped for ARC as a care giver, program implementer. I spent one summer working at Camp Easter Seal working with physically handicapped. Proud to say "I put myself through school."

Prior to coming to Ocala, I worked at Icon Laser Eye Center in Orlando, Florida. I to Ocala in 2000 to work with Robert E. Williams, O.D. and purchased the practice January 15, 2002.

As an Ocala citizen, I have been active in the Silver Springs Lion's Club being voted in as president after only two years in the club. I am currently the acting treasurer of the club. It is also an honor to serve on the Board of Directors for Interfaith Emergency Services.

I am also current President of VOSH Southeast. VOSH is an acronym for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. I have been to Peru 4 times and Nicaragua once. I look for ward to the next adventure and I have learned enough Spanish to conduct basic eye exams in Spanish.

I am married to a wonderful woman named Joellen who teaches school. I have one son at the University of West Florida named Jason.
